Baseball and Balls

We just got back from a few afternoon errands and Olivia is down for a nap. We've had a very busy weekend! I was able to get a massage yesterday morning, and then get my hair colored and cut. Then yesterday evening, we met some friends of ours, Jason and Kristin, and enjoyed a Round Rock Express baseball game. Olivia did so good.. but she definitely got restless in the seats and preferred to be walking around. She didn't get much sleep last night since we got home so late. And that is literally one of the first times we have ever kept her out that late. This picture isn't a great one, but my husband took the picture...and on his I-Phone. You'd think with how "high-tech" the I-Phone claims to be, it'd take better quality pictures.

A funny story... but first a little background... I've been teaching her some sign language signs for a while now, not religiously, but we'd watch Baby Einstein's First Signs every once in a while and I would use that time to teach myself so I could teach her on my own. The notion behind teaching babies sign language is that it gives them an outlet to communicate when they otherwise aren't yet able to speak, thus, cutting down on frustration, anger and every mommy's favorite, temper tantrums. So, anyway, she knows a few signs; some of them being: milk, eat, ball and shoes. So, as we were walking around the stadium last night, Liv started walking towards the Dippin' Dots stand. And all of a sudden starting doing the sign for ball. Since she can also say ball, she was signing and saying "Ball!" at the same time. And I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when I realized that she was seeing the huge, bright colored dots on the Dippin' Dots stand and stating what they were, balls, of course! It was so cute and I was very glad (although this wasn't the first time) to see that us practicing the signs is paying off and she is catching on and is finding ways to utilize the signs she knows. I think this means it's time to learn more signs!

Hope you had a good weekend!
